Nara Park is located to the east of Nara City. It is about 4 kilometers long from east to west and 2 kilometers from north to south. It covers a total area of about 660 hectares. It became a prefectural park in 1888 and was designated as a national scenic spot in Japan in 1922. The Nara Park is a large area. The tree-lined gardens have various sizes of temples, gardens, Wakakusayama, Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine and National Museum, as well as many places of interest.
